Fashion

On Monday 12 September 2016 I went to classroom around 7.20 am.
At 8.30 am. Teacher came to class and take attendance and then she let us though about the words about fashion such as clothes, shoes, hair style and accessory.

Teacher complained us why we talk too much and I knew that it’s boring for teacher.
Teacher gave us the exercise in sheet let us to find the words from description and pre-reading before we start reading in handout. After reading, teacher used Cambridge Dictionary Online to teach us how to pronounce each word correctly.    
Bikini: (n) /bɪˈkiː.ni/ a two-piece swimsuit for women:
Miniskirt: (n) /ˈmɪn.iˌskɜːt/a very short skirt
Necktie: (n)​ /ˈnek.taɪ/ a tie
Kimono: (n) ​ /kɪˈməʊ.nəʊ/  a long, loose piece of outer clothing with very wide sleeves, traditionally worn by the Japanese
Halter: (n) /ˈhɒl.tər/ a piece of rope or a leather strap that is tied around an animal's head so that it can be led by someone or tied to something
Sneaker: (n) /ˈsniː.kər/ a type of light, comfortable shoe that is suitable for playing sports
Fusion: (n)/ˈfjuː.ʒən/ an occasion when two or more things join or are combined
Confusion: (n)/kənˈfjuː.ʒən/ a situation in which people do not understand what is happening, what they should do or who someone or something is:
Comfortable: (adj) /ˈkʌm.fə.tə.bəl/ comfortable furniture and clothes provide a pleasant feeling and do not give you any physical problems
Reality: (n)​ /riˈæl.ə.ti/ the state of things as they are, rather than as they are imagined to be

After that, teacher gave us new handout it about “Fashion” then start reading in handout, answer the question and wrote “What did each paragraph about?”
Paragraph 1: In general, it’s not true that Japanese are more conservatively than Americans especially when it came to dress.
Paragraph 2: Yumiko had the first bad experience because of her clothes.
Paragraph 3: Yumiko had the second bad experience because of her clothes.
Paragraph 4: Yumiko realized that her clothes cause the problem.
Paragraph 5: Yumiko changed the clothes more casual.
Paragraph 6: The image of the country is sometime different from the reality.

 Essential skills – It’s about “Hair style” we learned about the words about hair style and reading paragraph to answer the question.

The strategies that I used today was skimming, scanning, previewing and guessing words meaning from the context.

Today’s lesson was interesting, have a lot of vocabulary and not too difficult but the difficult was we talked too much. I knew it’s made teacher upset and she always complained us why we talked too much. I promise I will improve myself.
